A long cold drive

Traveling several hours, while being uncomfortable, just seems to ruin the entire experience

My cousin called the other day and was very upset, she had just returned from a trip with her friends and she wanted to tell me about it. She said that the place they had visited was absolutely gorgeous. They had gone to a ski resort about 3 hours away and she said the mountain views or spectacular. She’s not one to ski but she said that the ski lodge had many activities that she could participate in during the day while her friends were on the slopes. As she was telling me all this, I couldn’t understand why she was so upset, then she told me about the drive home. Apparently, her friend drives a very old car that has an HVAC system that doesn’t work. She said she wished she would have known that ahead of time because she would have offered to drive her own car. Instead she spent three hours there and three hours back home shivering under a blanket in the backseat. The front events of the car seemed to work fine but the fan would only operate on low. So none of the heat made it to the backseat of the car. Her friend who was driving was comfortable and kept apologizing for the cold. She said she never really thought about it because she was usually the only one in the car and she knew she needed to have the system serviced but couldn’t afford it just now. This was definitely a learning experience for my cousin and from now on she will always ask before going on a trip with someone about their HVAC system in their car. Traveling several hours, while being uncomfortable, just seems to ruin the entire experience. Your HVAC system in your car is just as important as the one you have in your home. Nowadays we spend far too much time traveling to not invest money in that also.
