My friend and I looked into installing a permanent unit like a mini split ductless unit, but the cost was entirely high.
My parents are getting older & I consistently worry about them. So much so, that it takes away from my time with my own family. Many times, my husband will want to plan a family day with the kids an I insist on taking my parents with us. This limits the stadiums that my friend and I can go due to mobility & the fact that they can not tolerate extreme temperatures. The trips need to include stadiums that have quality Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems running all the time. Anyway, my friend and I came to the conclusion that it would be best to transfer my parents into our apartment so that I would not consistently worry about them. My friend and I have the extra room & figured my friend and I could just downsize their stuff & make it work. One thing that my friend and I had to make plans for was the addition of an Heating, Ventilation & A/C system. My friend and I have heat, of course, for the winter, however, my friend and I do not have any form of air conditioner. My husband & I never felt the need for it because my friend and I don’t have entirely long summers & the temperatures are actually only entirely hot for a week or two. The concern was that my parents didn’t even like the temperatures to be over 73 degrees & my friend and I would need some sort of cooling in their space. My friend and I looked into installing a permanent unit like a mini split ductless unit, but the cost was entirely high. My friend and I opted instead to purchase a sitting portable unit that could be moved actually from one space to another. This will actually be a perfect solution for them & us. My friend and I won’t have the expense of installing a complete system & they will be cool & comfortable.
