The boss needs to make some changes

Have you ever considered changing jobs because the employer is uncomfortable? I never thought I would be thinking of doing just that although I simply can’t put up with my workspace any longer, and when I took the job nearly fifteen years ago I assumed that I would stay there through retirement. I labor for the State, have enjoyable benefits and the retirement plan would supply me a enjoyable income in my older years. The concern that exists this week is one that I don’t see any end in sight; My general supervisor decided that he could save money in our department by changing the temperature in our workspace. Whether it is the heat of Summer or the cold of winter season he sets the thermostat to an uncomfortable degree and forces us to labor in irritated conditions. My enjoyable friend and I spend our afternoons covered in sweat or freezing and there doesn’t seem to be an inbetween, but as with any government office space there are ways that my associate and I can split costs and save the taxpayers money although I don’t guess that cutting utility bills at the expense of the employees comfort is the best one. Many of us have tried to reason with our supervisor although he simply will not listen. The thermostat has a lock on it so my associate and I entirely don’t have any option however to just deal with it. All of this has made me consider leaving a job that I never thought I would. I will make sure to ask about the heating and cooling policies at each of the places that I set up interviews with.
