My family lives in an area of the country that experiences extreme winter weather almost all year round.
- I think our first snowstorm last year happened in September which is pretty crazy! I know most places that experience such cold weather have nice summer weather to balance it out.
However, in the area that we live in that is not the case. I think in July the high got to 75° and that only lasted for a few hours. So to say we have to be on top of keeping our heating system maintained is an understatement. The last thing we want is to have a major snowstorm and have our heating system stop working. Thankfully my husband works for the local HVAC company in town and we get a great discount on maintenance services. The good news is if there is ever a major issue my husband should be able to fix it, but he doesn’t always have the parts he needs. I’m really happy that we decided to take such good care of our heating system because now we have small kids it’s important to keep the house warm during these cold winter months. My husband and I would be just fine if we lost power and couldn’t use our heating system, but I don’t think the kids would fare that well. And we don’t want to make sure that our kids are taken care of above anything else.
