What is that burnt toast odor?

What is that burnt toast odor?

That is a bonus.

I can’t guess this weather my buddy and I are having; Yesterday it was 88 degrees & super humid! This afternoon it was 55 degrees & chilly cold, it did warm up a bit throughout the day but nothing like it was last week. I finally had enough of being cold & I decided to turn on the furnace for the first time since March. It stunk pretty exhausting like burning toast. They say if you odor burning toast you might be having a stroke. I wasn’t having a stroke however I know my furnace might have been, at first I thought the burning odor was just my furnace burning off some dust. After all, it odors rather strong every year when my buddy and I turn it on for the first time, but however, this time the odor got stronger & stronger. Then my smoke detectors turned on & I could see smoke in the air. I abruptly turned off my furnace & then opened all the doors & windows & turned on my ceiling fans. It took a few minutes of ear-piercing beeps before the smoke detectors finally turned back off, but not wanting to go through that again I decided to keep the furnace off until a furnace repair supplier could come out & take a look. Thankfully they were able to make it out today. The furnace specialist cleaned my entire Heating and A/C system entirely well & then he turned the furnace back on. There was no burnt toast odor & my smoke detectors did not turn on. That is a bonus. I also found out today that you are supposed to have your cooling system & heater inspected twice a year. Each time before using them. I had no idea but it totally makes sense.
