I am very grateful for the air conditioning company that my mom uses. She is getting a bit forgetful in her old age. She forgets things she used to know. That is why I am the one who takes care of all of her expenses now. As a side note, my number is on most of her bills. On Friday I got a call from my mom’s air conditioning technician double checking if I wanted them to go and replace the batteries in her thermostat. At first I was very confused until the cooling representative explained that my mom had called them twice over the last 2 days telling them that her thermostat didn’t work. The representative walked her through changing the batteries both times. They just wanted to know if I would like for them to go change the batteries in the thermostat for my mom since she didn’t seem to understand the issue. I thanked them for the call but told them “no”. I would go change the batteries myself. I don’t need to pay a service fee for something as simple as that. I am just grateful that the air conditioning company is honest and is also looking out for my mom. They could have come out both days and charged us and I wouldn’t have been able to dispute the charges. I probably wouldn’t even have known that they were taking advantage of an old lady. Instead, they called me up. I really appreciate that. And, yes, I did change the batteries in the thermostat so my mom’s air conditioner works fine now.
