Unfortunately, when I needed to install a new window AC the last time, Martin was away on sick leave, and it was going to take a few months before he came back to work. He had dislocated his hip when he fell during a commercial AC installation sometime last month. I was sorry to hear this, but I couldn’t help but feel disappointed, yet I urgently needed the window AC fixed. The room I wanted it in had no air conditioning, and a few of my guests would be staying in there. It was my desire to make them as comfortable as possible. The company sent me Joe as the replacement. They claimed that he was equally excellent and competent to handle the task. However, Joe turned out to be a big disappointment as he messed everything up the moment he walked into the room and started putting the AC unit together. He misplaced a few of the crucial compliments and even broke some parts when fixing it. I had to write my complaints, and Joe was forced to pay for them. I learned later that he had been so anxious to impress me that he messed up on a task he was an expert at. I felt sorry for him, but the deed was already done, and there was no reversing.
