The high levels of humidity make my floor slippery and dangerous

I am worried too.

My husband and I have really been considering moving north. We both grew up in the south, and we both have many friends and family here, but it is just not an easy place for us to live. I am basically allergic to the sun, so I cannot go outside for most of the year which really stinks, and my husband really hates the heat. It is usually in the hundreds for a couple months out of the year, and my husband works outside all day long. Not only is it really hot outside, but it is also quite humid. It is certainly not a dry heat like it is out west where my parents are living right now. Even though I cannot be out in the hot weather for very long, I have found that I prefer dry heat over humid heat. I have also found that it affects my house as well. We have air conditioning of course, but it just cannot seem to keep up with the crazy high humidity. It gets really sticky in our house during the evenings. I have even found that the kitchen floor along with the stairs are quite slippery because of the humidity. I fell on our kitchen floor about a week ago, and I am still in pain from it. I told my husband about it, and he is really worried that I might fall again while carrying our little baby. I am worried too. The worst part is that the stairs are slippery. My husband bought a dehumidifier for the kitchn, and he also bought one for the living room where the stairs are located. I am hoping that this will help, but I am still convinced that we should move north.
