I love living up north for many reasons.
The summers here are beautiful, and I love the mountainous area that I am surrounded by.
The autumn is the most beautiful time of the year. The leaves changes to beautiful, vibrant colors, and I cannot help but get my camera out and take many pictures. My husband loves living up north even more than I do, I think. He grew up down south, and he said that it was quite brutal to have to work outside in the middle of the summer. I definitely agree with him. Although I grew up in a place a little cooler than he did, I definitely prefer the north over where I grew up. The only part that I struggle with is the extreme cold temperatures during the winter months. From December to February or March, the temperatures can get quite chilly. We have had some issues with our furnace shutting off when it gets really cold. It does not happen often, so we have not really looked into getting our furnace fixed. My husband replaced a part on the furnace this past year, so hopefully, we will not have anymore issues with it shutting off. I have a few space heaters throughout the house that I use during the really cold months. Unfortunately, my son broke my favorite space heater a few days ago. He was carrying it upstairs for me when he tripped on the cord and fell. The space heater tumbled down the stairs, and it got dented pretty badly. After that, it started leaking oil, so we had to get rid of it. I will really miss that space heater.
