The high levels of humidity make my floor slippery & dangerous

My hubby & I have absolutely been considering moving north, we both grew up in the south, & we both have many friends & family here, however it is just not an easy site for us to live. I am basically allergic to the sun, so I cannot go outside for most of the year which absolutely smells, & my hubby absolutely hates the heat. It is usually in the hundreds for a couple months out of the year, & my hubby works outside all afternoon long, and not only is it absolutely hot outside, however it is also quite humid. It is actually not a dry heat like it is out west where my parents are living right now! Even though I cannot be out in the hot weather for actually long, I have found that I cherish dry heat over humid heat. I have also found that it affects my apartment as well. We have air conditioning of course, however it just cannot seem to keep up with the crazy high humidity. It gets absolutely sticky in our apartment during the afternoons. I have even found that the study room floor along with the stairs are quite slippery because of the humidity. I fell on our study room floor about a week ago, & I am still in pain from it. I told my hubby about it, & she is absolutely worried that I might fall again while carrying our little baby. I am worried too, however the worst part is that the stairs are slippery. My hubby bought a dehumidifier for the kitchn, & she also bought one for the study room where the stairs are located. I am hoping that this will help, however I am still convinced that we should transfer north.
