Hearing a noise at night, turned out to be heaters

Every day of the week I have at least something going on that repeats itself every week.

For example on Tuesday night I will come home from work and watch my TV shows.

I watch about three TV shows on Tuesdays, two on Wednesdays, and four on Thursdays. You can say that I’m a TV show fanatic. On Tuesdays I will go over to my boyfriend’s house to watch our shows together. He has a projector and a big screen TV with ultra surround sound, so watching TV shows are much better than watching it on my 40 inch screen TV at my house. The last show didn’t get over until 11:30 at night. Right before I was about to fall asleep I heard a strange noise that I thought was coming from outside. It sounded like raindrops but he told me that it was just the vents in his room. The heating unit in his house doesn’t have a ductwork system but a system where the vents leak out heat. The sound was the vents warming up to heat his home. I thought it was strange noise because I never heard a sound like that before. I have central heating and cooling in my home but my boyfriend doesn’t because my home is much newer than his. His home is about 20 years old and the way that they installed heating and cooling systems back then was much different, now a lot of homeowners will use central heating and cooling in newer homes.
